~•{ Top Date - Producing Countries 2001 }•~

There are many countries which produce dates to export to other countries. From this bar chart, I will describe the top 10 producers and how much they produced in tonnes.

First of all, Egypt is the biggest producer with annual production of 1,100,000 tonnes. The second - highest producer in 2001 with 850,000 tonnes is Iran. Following them came the UAE and Saudi Arabia, rivalling each other with about 740,000 tonnes each. Pakistan and Iraq, with outputs of approximately 630,000, were not far behind. Algeria supplied the world with nearly 400,000 tonnes and Oman around a quarter of a million. Finally, Sudan’s and Libya’s crops yielded under 200,000 tonnes each.

The outstanding feature of the bar chart is Egypt and Iran. However, six countries produced over half a million tonnes a year.
